As seniors begin wrapping up their last few days as ASK Scholars, we asked a few of them to leave some parting words of wisdom for the underclassmen. Below, Marilyn Cope reminds us that there is plenty of living to do after high school, so be flexible.

Dear underclassmen,
The end of high school is not the end of life, so don’t try to pull yourself together by graduation. You don’t have to have your life figured out, or if you do, it doesn’t have to stay that way. All throughout being at ASK, I thought I knew where I was headed, and I was devastated when things didn’t go as planned.
I didn’t get a 4.0 GPA. I didn’t get giant scholarships to my dream schools. I didn’t get what I thought I would, and no one told me that was okay. So here I am telling you, just try your best.
Don’t worry about not being ready for college. I graduated a semester early and passed all my freshman college classes because of ASK. If there was one school to prepare you for the rest of your life, you’re in it. Sure you get more homework and projects than others, but it prepares you for the real world.
The managers at ASK are a godsend. They helped me get through the toughest 3.5 years of my life, and they can help you too. They aren’t there to make your school life horrible, they’re just as miserable as you. Treat them right, and they’ll go out of their way to treat you the same.
