Anime Club, sponsored  by Ms. Pierce, is hosting a movie night this Thursday. The movie being shown, Howl’s Moving Castle is scripted and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, a famous animator who also helped create Princess Mononoke and Spirited away. Howl’s Moving Castle is about a young girl who works in her parents hat shop and meets a stranger from time to time. This stranger is called Howl and he is a wizard. Over time, a witch sees this girl’s happiness and in a jealous rage curses this girl to become old.

The anime club is inviting managers, scholars, and their families to come watch this movie.

Ms. Pierce said the movie is, “no charge, but there will be a concession stand that will sell snacks to raise money to buy cosplay costumes.”

“It is a time to get together, have fun, and relax, we (the anime club) hope that there will be a good crowd, since by then the school will be halfway through testing,” Ms. Pierce said.  The money raised will be used for cosplaying outfits as well as more club trips.

A scholar in Anime Club, sophomore Tre Crespin said, “Howl’s Moving Castle was chosen because it was appropriate and entertaining for all ages. The club also plans to buy cosplay costumes and maybe go to the Japanese botanical gardens for a picture,” he said.

The movie will be held in the commons and will be shown from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
