Wednesday night Project Manager Danielle Plomaritas took Model UN scholars to volunteer at the haunted farm, Quarantine , to raise money for their upcoming trip to Santa Fe.

Scholars were assigned a character (cult members raised by zombies, for example) and a post somewhere throughout the haunted maze or farm. For six hours, they chased after terrified patrons in an attempt to give them a good scare.  Scholars worked along side professional actors, and picked up some acting tips.

The level of fright was taken to a whole new level, junior Mario Andreatta said.

‘I was positioned behind a tombstone and whenever someone came by, I would pop out. When a mom with her two kids came by, I popped out, scaring a little boy and making him fall down,” he said.

Scholars were expected to work through the entire six hour shift, getting bathroom breaks once an hour. They were paid $25 per person for the gig; with a total of$375 raised at the end of the night. Model UN will use the money for their upcoming competition at the Santa Fe Roundhouse.
