New England vs. Buffalo Bills

The Bills came into the game hoping to get a win with 2nd stringer quarterback Kyle Orton.  Both Bills and Patriots went three and out, and had to punt on first drives.  The Patriots finally got it down the field and got it near the end zone thanks to a Bills pass interference flag.  They had to settle for a field goal, but the kicker missed it – crazy!  At the end of the half, the score was 10-7. Later, the Patriots made it 20-7, but 8 year veteran running back Fred Jackson scored a 2 yard touchdown for the Bills, which made it 20-14.  The Patriots meant business when they scored points everywhere in the fourth quarter, making the final score 37-22, Patriots winning it.

Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets

The underdog Jets hosted Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sunday.  Broncos stepped up early and scored three touchdowns thrown by Manning making it 24-7. Manning is just two touchdowns away from tying Brett Favre’s record for thrown touchdowns(508). In the third quarter, Jet’s quarterback Geno Smith threw it to former Bronco receiver Eric Decker for a touchdown, making it 24-17. It was a close game with about 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter, until Geno Smith threw an interception to Aqib Talib, who took it back to score. With 15 seconds left, the Broncos won it.

Carolina Panthers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

This game was a close one to start off with. It was all offense, all scoring, and hardly any defense trying to stop it.The close competition ended up being a tie, which is rare in the NFL. It was 37-37, with two seconds left, when Bengals kicker Mike Nugent missed a 36 yard field goal. How can you miss a crucial kick, especially when it’s his job to only kick field goals? This probably drove Bengals fans crazy when the score ended up 37-37.

Chelsea vs. Sporting CP

Chelsea got away from a close one when the team won against Sporting CP, 1-0.  This game was interesting for those that enjoy competitive games with not a lot of actual scoring until it counts; Chelsea made their goal count when it was late in the game.  Chelsea’s goalkeeper also kept them in the game by making crucial blocks to help lift team spirits. Chelsea will move on and is on top of their group leaderboards for the Uefa Champion’s League.
