ASK Academy’s first prom is taking place this Friday from 8-10:30 p.m. at the Italian-American Association next door to the school. Tickets are $10 per person if pre ordered, and $12 at the door.

Prom is for high school scholars only; middle school has their own dances.

Anyone who is looking to bring a guest from outside of ASK must get an approval form from Mrs. Correa. It must be signed by an administrator from the guest’s school and returned to Mrs. Correa before Friday at noon. There will be a list of approved guests at the door.

The theme of the prom is a “Hollywood Award Show,” and the theme’s colors are red, black, and gold and silver.

The attire for the prom is semi-formal. Female students may wear appropriate dresses, and males must wear a nice shirt and slacks. Jeans or tennis shoes will not be permitted.

Freshman Claire Legault is excited to see what people will be wearing. “My expectation for this prom is beautiful dresses,” she said.

A senior prom king and queen will be elected at the dance.

Sophomore Gwendolyn Orr-Dick says to her, it’s just another dance, but thinks that it’s nice that ASK is having a prom for scholars who want the full high school experience. “I am excited because I like hanging out with people outside of school, and I like loud music and dancing,” she said.
